A Glamourpuss Birthday Party
September 13, 2011 The coolest, funniest client I know. Jaimi. She wanted to send a simple birthday invitation in an email body, so I thought I'd make it a little fun. Who says animated sparkle gifs can't be cool!?

August 18, 2011 The ladies of 100 Layer Cake had the great idea to start creating and featuring their own series of DIY tutorial videos for their readers and asked me to be a part of it. I immediately jumped aboard - any chance to put my video editing skills to work I'm all for! Yesterday it was featured on Design*Sponge as part of their DIY Wednesday goods, and today you can see it over on the 100 Layer Cake blog. This is the first of many to come, so hope you enjoy!
June 23, 2011 I'm honored that my first wedding client here in Los Angeles was this awesome pair: Tara and Ben. When we first met, I knew I was going to thoroughly enjoy designing with them. They are laid back, they know what they want and know what they like, and I know their wedding is going to be rad. I also know the girls over at Sitting In A Tree Events are going to make their wedding even more insane!
With the wedding brand, it's important that your guests receive a "save the date" that sets the mood and get's everyone all excited about that special day coming up.
Tara and Ben wanted something that was Los Angeles. Something that used the colors in a Santa Monica sunset sky. It had to have a little grit and texture to it. Something that felt bold but warm. A little vintage, a little urban. I started with this "save the date" then the logo, then the website - and I'm not done yet! We've got something awesome in-store for the wedding invitations - just you wait!

June 22, 2011 Some patterns I did for the Chronicle challenge (last post). It's O.K., they weren't picked, but I still think they're winners!

May 31, 2011 Every year, Minted.com holds a Holiday Photo card design challenge. It's THE challenge of the year. The holiday photo cards industry makes millions and millions of dollars in a matter of weeks. At Minted, you get a commission off of every sale! So if your cards are good enough and you sell 1 million dollars worth (which, let me just say, is not unheard of) - with the current 5% commission rate - thats $50,000.00! So, help a brotha out and go VOTE!

May 10, 2011 You've probably already seen my wife's post about our new project. If you didn't, check it out because she threw up a dope Onra & Quetzal track that perfectly captures this project's mood.
So the idea behind Drive By LA came about during one our many leisurely cruises around the city. We just moved to LA about 2 months ago and compared to San Francisco, this place is never ending. Junia and I had been talking about something we can start together. A team-up project. Since we carry our relatively-inexpensive-but-pretty-decent, Canon Rebel T1i everywhere we go, we thought it could be fun to document our drives around the city and all that LA is.

May 10, 2011 It turns out my other design was the one that was chosen. I think the t-shirts are scheduled to arrive soon. I'll post a pick once I get my hands on one. Thanks, Minted.
